Job Summary:
The Manager – Land Acquisition will lead and manage the end-to-end land acquisition process for the company’s greenfield and brownfield projects. This includes land identification, due diligence, negotiation, legal compliance, obtaining necessary permissions and clearances, and effective stakeholder engagement with government bodies, landowners, and internal teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Land Identification & Due Diligence:
    • Identify suitable land parcels (private, government, or leased) for solar, wind, or infrastructure projects across target locations.
    • Conduct title verification, land use classification, risk assessment, and prepare detailed reports.
    • Coordinate with legal teams for land record verification and clearances.
  2. Negotiation & Acquisition:
    • Lead negotiations with landowners, local authorities, and agents for cost-effective acquisition.
    • Oversee registration, agreement execution, and lease or sale deed processes.
    • Ensure timely possession handover in line with project timelines.
  3. Compliance & Documentation:
    • Ensure compliance with state and central land acquisition regulations, including environmental and zoning norms.
    • Obtain necessary NoCs, conversion approvals, and utility corridor rights.
    • Maintain comprehensive documentation for audit and legal purposes.
  4. Liaison with Authorities & Stakeholders:
    • Liaise with revenue departments, tehsildars, SDOs, and other statutory bodies for approvals.
    • Build and maintain relationships with local communities and stakeholders to ensure smooth operations.
  5. Team & Vendor Management:
    • Build and manage a regional acquisition team and network of consultants or aggregators.
    • Develop SOPs for land acquisition to ensure standardization and transparency.
    • Monitor project progress and report updates to senior leadership.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • Graduate in Law, Land Management, or a related field. MBA or PG in Rural Development/Urban Planning is a plus.
  • 8-10 years of experience in land acquisition, with at least 5 years in a managerial role.
  • Sound knowledge of land laws (state and central), revenue processes, and local governance.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Willingness to travel extensively to remote sites.

Desirable Attributes:

  • Proven experience in renewable energy (solar/wind) land acquisition projects.
  • Deep network of contacts in government and local land administration.
  • Ethical, transparent, and culturally sensitive approach.
  • Results-oriented with a focus on time-bound project execution.
